Canada, Russia, Brazil, China and United States are quite known for having considerable deposits of this jade variety.
Nephrite is quite interesting home decor material and one can find vases, sinks, small animals and even flower shapes developed from it. Its opaque appearance looks very enticing in cabochons. It is also used widely in necklaces, earrings and pendants that are quite exciting fashion jewellery options.
Nephrite is sold in natural form mostly. Coating technique is used for enhancing its appearance. If you come across terms like Russian Jade, Imperial Jade etc. You are simply being offered nephrite and so you should make the buying decision accordingly. You can also find colourless nephrites but these are bit cheaper than green variety.

Nephrite jewellery looks its best in chemical-free, low temperature surroundings. This gemstone is mostly used unfaceted, cabochon single piece. Kitchen is certainly not the place to work with nephrite jewellery on. Even for storage, soft cloth lined jewellery box is preferable.
