MORGANITE GEMSTONE

Beryl when found with manganese impurity gets the name morganite and is characterized by lovely pink colour that it carries. Another pink coloured stone when got the name Kunzite after its finder Kunz, the gemstone sector decided to call pink beryl as morganite after the legendary gems collector J.P. Morgan who did fabulous job of bringing this variety of beryl to limelight. This gemstone gets the stature of a unique gemstone because of the variety of hues that appear in it naturally.

Morganite became the centre of marketing strategy when traders tried to sold it as pink emerald. China, Afghanistan, Namibia, USA, Mozambique and Zimbabwe are some of the locations where the morganite deposits are found. That is why, it is considered less rare than emerald which is known for characteristic inclusions and also for its availability in very scarce amounts.
